Amanda is a senior studying Psychology and Neuroscience with minors in Women's/Gender Studies and French. 

Amanda joined WoCo because she is passionate about gender equity and advocating against discrimination. She is dedicated to ensuring that WoCo remains a safe and inclusive space for all students to fight gender inequities on/off campus, build leadership skills, and gain a sense of belonging in our community. She has been a part of WoCo since her freshman year and is honored to finish her last year at MSU as WoCo's president!

Alexis is a senior studying Women's/Gender studies with a minor in Education and Society.

Alexis is honored to return to Women*s Council this year! She is excited to keep building community among women and non-binary students on campus, and she is looking forward to all of the fun events we will host this year!

Vaishnavi is a junior studying human biology with a minor in Epidemiology and Public Health.

Vaishnavi joined WoCo because she is passionate about feminism and quality across all genders. She believes it is such a good community to be a part of and lots of fun!!

Lily is a senior studying Environmental Biology/Zoology with minors in Marine Biology & Ecosystems Management and Environmental & Sustainability Studies.

 

Lily joined WoCo because she was looking to join a club and meet new people. Joining WoCo has given her a sense of belonging on campus, has allowed her to be her authentic self and connect with other students who share a passion for feminism and advocation. WoCo is important to her because we are an important resource for women and non-binary students on campus.

Grace Zyczynski (she/hers)

Grace is a senior studying Human Biology with a minor in Environment and Health.

Grace joined WoCo because she cares deeply about empowering women*s voices, advocating for change, and bringing awareness to issues that impact our campus. She is passionate about gender equity, inclusion, and feminism, and hopes to help others find community. She also wants to create a safe and supportive space for her fellow MSU students while being a part of meaningful initiatives and engaging events.

Jennifer is a junior studying Management and Public Policy with a minor in Economics.

Jennifer joined WoCo because her first year as a member, she felt welcomed and appreciated by the board. She really valued that experience, and she wants to help facilitate a space on campus where others can also enjoy and advocate freely for themselves.

Bella is a sophomore studying Pre-Law Humanities and Public & Professional Writing with minors in Spanish and Philosophy and Law.

Being a part of the Women*s Council has allowed Bella to more intentionally engage with feminist ideals in community as well as explore campus resources and experiences that help us better understand how to interact with a movement of feminism for all. She has been so fortunate so as to be able to serve the Women*s Council as the RHA Representative and looks forward to being able to continue her service as a Co-Programming Chair! Being a part of the Women*s Council has taught her the important balance of being able to share knowledge as a leader as well as have the privilege to get to learn from the amazing people around her.

Lesly Morales

Meet our Women*s Council advisor, Lesly Morales! Lesly is the Coordinator of Women and Gender Equity (WAGE)––an office that advocates for gender equity on campus and in the greater MSU community. Lesly achieves this by holding inclusive, community engaging events that aim to empower and unite all gender identities here at Michigan State University. To find out more about WAGE click here!

Sophia is a junior studying Physiology with a minor in Women's/Gender Studies.

Sophia joined WoCo because she always loved seeing the work everyone put in towards events, everyone apart of WoCo seemed extremely friendly and welcoming. Women*s Council had many values that aligned close to hers with a similar goal, which inspired her to join. Being a part of WoCo has helped her uplift other students on campus and enlightened her on new ways in which students at MSU can become even closer as a community.

Melissa Aguilar Gabriel

CORES/CAMS representative

Melissa is a sophomore studying International Relations; Politics, Rights, and Culture; and Economics with minors in Computational Mathematics; Science and Engineering; and Science, Technology, and Environmental Public Policy.

Melissa joined WoCo because she understands the hardship of adapting to a new culture, not having English as a first language, or in general exploring completely new spaces and attempt to align her values to it. Personally engaging with International Student Association and International Scholars Advisory Board at Honors College, the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center, and the Multicultural Greek Council as well to work with CAMP (program for migrant and seasonal farm-working student’s) where she would love to bring more insight and participation from these groups and backgrounds with collaborative effort to WoCo.
