Taylor Murdick is a second year majoring in Psychology and Sociology with minors in LGBTQ and Sexuality Studies and Women's and Gender Studies.
On campus, Taylor is an intern at W8SS, a member of WILD Planning Committee, a volunteer at MSU Safe Place, a research assistant for Trans-ilience! and a member of the Social Science Scholars Program. They joined Women*s Council because she wanted to "create a safe space for others, while advocating for, educating, and empowering the community of Michigan State and East Lansing regarding the issues of gender equity and the importance of intersectionality"

She loves being part of WoCo because of the supportive environment it creates for everyone while educating, empowering, and advocating for people of all genders. She is also involved in the Economics Club and the Senior Class Council.

She joined Women*s Council to actively support gender equality and empowerment on campus, fostering community where women's voices are heard and valued. She saw this as an opportunity to engage in meaningful initiatives aimed at addressing various issues affecting women's rights and well-being within the college environment.

Meet our Women*s Council advisor, Dr. Heather Shea! Heather is the Director of Women*s Student Services, a department that advocates for gender equity on campus and in the greater MSU community. Heather achieves this by holding inclusive, community engaging events that aim to empower and unite women identified students (and allies) here at Michigan State University. Maren is studying International Relations & Economics.

Maren joined WoCo "to be a part of a community that is committed to educating, advocating for, and supporting all women* on and off MSU's campus.
Maren wants to help her peers build leadership skills for their empowerment. Everyone should be able to advocate for themselves as well as others.
Working with WoCo and the organizations behind the DEI Summit has allowed her to build coalitions to educate on, advocate for, and support women* and marginalized groups on and off campus.

Being a spartan means finding community and strength in the people around you. For Shrishti, joining WoCo has given her space to educate herself, actively participate in outreach, and advocate for students on campus. She wants to help her peers find their own path and voice amidst all the chaos that comes with being a student in the current environment.
